How to Prompt
Like a Director.

The secret to a viral video lies in the technical precision of your instructions.

The Universal Formula

To get a predictable result, always structure your prompts according to this hierarchy:

1

Subject

Who or what is at the center of the image?

2

Action

What is it concretely doing? (Action verbs)

3

Place

In what environment? (Weather details, setting)

4

Technical

Camera movement, lens style, lighting.

1. Camera & Movement

The camera is your eye. Without direction, AI often chooses a generic static shot. Use these terms to define the perspective:

Dolly Shot

Moving the camera towards or away from the subject.

Slow Pan

A horizontal rotation to reveal a wider landscape.

Crane Shot

Looking down from above, moving vertically.

FPV Drone

Fast, immersive, and high-energy movement.

2. Lighting & Atmosphere

Lighting defines the mood of your video. Be specific about the source and quality of light:

Volumetric Lighting

Visible beams of light through fog or dust (God rays).

Cinematic Teal & Orange

A classic Hollywood color grading for high contrast.

Golden Hour

Soft, warm, directional light during sunset.

Moody Noir

Hard shadows and high contrast for a mysterious look.

3. Textures & Materials

AI needs to know how surfaces should interact with light to look realistic:

Subsurface Scattering

Light passing through skin or wax for realistic portraits.

Iridescent Surfaces

Rainbow-like reflections (bubbles, oil, beetles).

Highly Detailed

Keywords like '8k', 'macro shot', or 'fine grain texture'.

Style Gallery

Cinematic

Cinematic Hollywood

"Anamorphic lens, shallow depth of field, high dynamic range."

Retro

Vaporwave / Retro

"VHS aesthetic, neon pink glow, chromatic aberration, glitched."

PRO TIP

Master the "Negative".

If your video is too static or distorted, add these negative keywords:"static, blurry, low resolution, distorted faces, watermark, ugly."
